KUALA LUMPUR, November 1 – The ASEAN 2025 chairmanship has successfully opened up new economic opportunities and strengthened Malaysia’s position as a regional investment and tourism destination.

According to International Relations Political Analyst, Mohamad Shafiq Sahruddin, the increase in economic activity in border states such as Kelantan and Kedah clearly shows the benefits of regional diplomacy carried out by Malaysia through ASEAN.

“We can see in terms of more active economic activities, which contribute more to the country’s income when the outside community gets to know Malaysia better and this not only promotes local economic growth but also introduces Malaysia in terms of its culture and traditional customs to the world.”

“Quiet diplomacy and the art of diplomacy demonstrated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim have had a huge and very positive impact not only on Malaysia but also on foreign countries,” he said.
